grew taller

i cant believe it myself. all along i thot i was this neither here nor there height of 176cm.  not short, but not really model tall either.  but when i went for my full medical check up, when the nurse told me i am 180cm, freaking 180cm, i was speechless.  i actually made the nurse measure me again.

is like a magical number.  similar to me turning 35 this year marking the move to senior mature category, 180 is also like the hurdle height for tallness.  anything less like 179.9 is not there yet…. no no no … you have to be 180 to be tall.

now isnt that a good incentive to really tone up and achieve that 6 pack to complement the new height.  geee … i should consider laserlipo.

hot young adventurer

“A 22-year-old British adventurer by the name of Rhys Jones may have made a name for himself as the youngest person to climb the world’s seven highest summits, but he may end up being known as the youngest lunatic to ever drown in a juice-carton boat on the Mississippi if his plans for this weekend don’t pan out. Actually, the idea was conceived by his father after he received a book about origami. Naturally, his first thought was to build a 12-foot raft with a wooden cabin and a paper hull lined with juice cartons and sail 3,700 miles down one of the most treacherous rivers in the world. As mentioned, the father and son team plan to set sail this weekend on what will undoubtedly be a 3-4 month trip down the river. In the end, Rhys and his father hope to recycle the boat and raise awareness about conserving the Earth’s natural resources. So remember kids, not recycling is bad, but risking your life for no apparent reason is still a-ok.”

interesting rain tap

like this interesting design. but the complication i think is how the tap works.  as in the turning on and off the water flow.  will be more complicated and expensive i am sure. otherwise can do this for next hilom.

wow! kiss the bride

watch the trailer at http://www.kissthebridemovie.com/ wonder if it will come to singapore. hate this new rule thing about not normalizing gay lifestyle in SG.  is just so stupid.

work work work

guess there is no end to work.  almost one year after i got back to full time work, i am seeing more people in not  9 to 5 jobs.  how i envy them. but sometimes i think it is also all in the mind.  my jobs frankly are all damn flexible.  case in point, i was at home yesterday “working”.  my boss even commented recently that i am showing up in office more often lately and if i need, i should just work from home.  unfortunately it is not just the boss i have to please.

as i was saying, i have very flexible job hours and location.  can be interested in what i am doing (dont really hate my job scope).  and it pays damn well.  not as well as agents and brokers or good sales staff.  but very well for “labourers” like myself.

so think positive and get to work!

feeling lonely

i guess we all have different needs. on one hand i like freedom and not be tied down.  on the other hand, i need constant attention and to feel loved, fussed over and be able to lean on someone. i do get tired at times. lately also have not been in the best of health. not that i am very sick or dying. is the minor flu, cough, blocked nose and feeling of weakness but yet nothing too serious. add to that the work that i pile up and stress over without doing.

but i must say the 1 week when my bf was in town and we just watch movies (6 in 3 days), had fine dinning, shop (gadget shopping) and basically just not feel guilty about it.  my excuse of course was that this is once a year event (think in the past one year and not necessarily in the next one year) that my bf is in town and at this moment we can afford it. so just enjoy. was glad i took leave and didnt think too much about work.

but one week back in office and now i am in KL to do my sideline job which literally mean no weekend break for me.  sometimes i enjoy the rush of activities. sometimes i just wish i can sleep in someone’s arms.

allure of the bad boy

i have been bad.  unfortunately it is not the way that makes me more attractive.  i have been shopping again.  you see, i had no intention of visiting the PC Show exhibition in SG over the weekend.  i had nothing to buy.  so i thot.

so when a friend asked me to go, i thot no harm.  boy was it harmful.  besides a device that claims to cut electricity bill (i sure need that with all my gadgets and machine running) also bought a wireless video camera for the living room.  this is so that my sister and i can monitor my mum when i am not around.  she is getting old but she refuse to live with my brother or sisters.

but most sinful of cause is getting a PC.  not that it is not a mac or imac that is sinful (a little guilty) but that i bought another computer.  well it is cheapish, being AMD older quadcore technology.  comes with only windows vista home basic and onboard graphics card.

but i have not owned a PC for a long time and a PC is a shell that is an endless abyss of investment.  example, the very next day (a working monday), i went to funan to get windows vista ultimate (oem original) and a new graphics card (dvi is so much sharper than analog) (GeForce 8600 GT – budget line but good enough to power 2 x 24″ monitors if i wanted to).  in fact i almost bought another 22″ monitor identical to my current one, just that they were out of stock.

in fact i wonder how long i can resist the second monitor setup.

Teacher

Height: 1.84m

Weight: 80kg

Exercise regimen: For cardio exercise, I play basketball twice a week and also walk my dog daily for 45 minutes. I recently picked up cycling and cover between 30 and 60km each time, at 27kmh or faster. I do weights twice a week and work on two groups of muscles each time. Due to the air-conditioning, I prefer not to do any cardio work in the gym.

Diet:Breakfast is a must – four slices of bread. I take four or five meals a day and choose chicken breast meat over red meat. On workout days, I take more carbohydrates and protein-rich foods. I believe that there has to be a balance in everything. So, on days when I eat more, I work out harder.

follow me chair

cute … like sci-fi movie.

mind over matter

mental discipline has always been my weakest link.  is like if only i will exercise more, stop eating unhealthy food, work instead of stressing over work or just tell that rude fellow in the train to shut up.  i very often know what i am suppose to do, but the body gives into the flesh more than the mind.

but in some cases (rare occasions) i have successfully  completed some really grueling tasks. like finishing the full 42km marathon in 7.5 hrs … 5 hrs of which was limping in pain.  why cant i transfer myself into a tone lean body?  guess because i am more for easy way out then long painful hard journey.  the reasons why i did not finish my commando training. damn imagine if i had, i would have many more commando friends.  gosh that has been a fantasy wet dream.

mid life crisis? (again)

when ever me and some of my friends see a sports car on the street, we will definitely take a look at the driver.  very often if is a young girl, we will think she is  a kept mistress or daddy’s girl.  otherwise it will be a older beyond middle age man who probably worked hard all his life to just made it now to drive a sports car.  does not fit his image any more.  of course if is a young hunky guy we will just lust and admire and envy.  i am almost reaching the UNCLE stage of my life.  so should i get a sports car (secondhand since i cannot afford a new one still) now while i may barely still passed off as within the age group (still have to work very hard on the hunk part) even though it will be tight and not the wisest thing to do.  my philosophy has always been live life and enjoy for you never know what will happy tomorrow.  of course being older and wiser i also put aside a bit for my future.  not that my future is already secured, so should i pamper myself with a secondhand sports car?  obviously i cant afford a condo and a car now.  if you have a choice, would you A) sports car B) save for condo C) do nothing and just save?

weekend again …

just a video of a nice hunky man doing sit up….. think of it as inspiration to work out. oh dont you wish you can lick that abs of his

shopping and eating

my partner will be here tonight and i am on leave for a few days.  planning to just shop in the great singapore sale, eat at all the great restaurants and watch tons of movies.  of course i still have to do my sideline work.  and may be some exercise if i am finally recovered from my flu.

hot young guys every where

went to collect my race kit for next week’s 15km passion run.  although i may not be running given that i am just recovering from my flu and infection but still had to collect my tshirt since it is already paid for.

any case, the collection was at velocity the mall.  given it is the school holiday they were having a beach volleyball competition there.  imagine the number of cute hot boys there all sweaty or wet from playing the game.

then the volunteers helping out in the race kit collection point … i think you there are all like the guys in this photo except younger … in shorts and a nice blue shirt.  most of them look like they are between 18 to 20 years old.  beautify and handsome.
